Organizing your conversations in the mobile app

Table of contents

Whenever you start a new conversation, that conversation will appear in your conversation list. These conversations are separated into four tabs: All, Direct, Teams, and Favorites. To learn about these tabs, visit Navigating the Message interface in the mobile app.

Despite having four tabs to help organize your conversations, you may find your conversation list getting fairly cluttered, especially if you have a lot of active conversations. There are a couple ways that you can further organize your conversations in the conversation list.

Showing unread messages

One way that you can organize your messages and remove the clutter in your conversation list is by choosing to filter your conversations by unread messages. This will also help ensure that you’re not missing important unread conversations because that conversation has been buried in your list.

To show only your unread messages in the conversation list, simply tap on the filter icon in the far right under the tabs, then select Unread from the dropdown list.

Favoriting your conversations

If you have certain conversations that you want to keep track of or prioritize over others, you may choose to favorite those conversations and move them to the Favorites tab.

To favorite a conversation, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to Message section of the app
  2. Select a conversation from the conversation list
  3. Tap the conversation name at the top of the message thread
  4. Select the gear icon in the top right corner
  5. Toggle the Favorite setting on
Once you’ve favorited a conversation, it will be moved under the Favorites tab in the Message menu. To remove a conversation from your favorites, simply tap and hold on the conversation from the list, then select Remove from favorites
