Searching for a user or conversation in the mobile app

You can use the search button at the top right-hand side of the app to look for a particular app user or conversation, whether that’s a direct message, group, or team conversation. You can also use the search bar to look for a specific message in a conversation you’re included in.

Using the search option

To use the search option, tap the search magnifying glass button at top right in the Message menu. Begin typing into the search bar to start your search. As you type, a list of search results will appear matching your search.

When you use the search bar, your search results will be separated into two tabs:

Contacts: Includes co-workers and guests
Messages: Includes direct, group, and team messages

Search messages

To search for messages, tap the search icon in the upper right-hand side of the app. Type in the search bar at the top of the app, and then click the Messages tab to filter through the list of messages containing the text you’re looking for.
