Setting up your voicemail in the app desktop and web

You can set up your voicemail during account setup and configure them later in Phone settings. Voicemail feature includes voicemail rules when a call is not answered, recording your own greeting, and setting up a PIN. If you do not answer on any of your phones, you can set up a voicemail where callers will be transferred.

Setting up voicemail during account setup

Setting up this feature during account setup is only for small and medium business (SMB) customers.  
  1. Click Review or Edit on the Review your call handling card.
  2. Click Voicemail & missed call handling.
  3. Set the When a call is not answered setting.
    1. If you choose Forward to voicemail, set the Voicemail greeting type.
    2. If you choose Play a message, then disconnect, set the Message type.
    3. If you choose Send call to a calling group, select the calling group.
  4. Set your Voicemail PIN. Enter a new PIN and confirm it. This option will only appear if you choose Forward to voicemail.
  5. Click Save.

Setting up voicemail in Phone settings

  1. Navigate to Settings via the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Select Phone on the left pane.
  3. Scroll down to Incoming calls.
  4. Click the Edit button at the far right of Voicemail to open the Voicemail window.
  5. Set the When a call is not answered setting.
    1. If you choose Forward to voicemail, set the Voicemail greeting type.
    2. If you choose Play a message, then disconnect, set the Message type.
    3. If you choose Send call to a calling group, select the calling group.
  6. Set your Voicemail PIN. Enter a new PIN and confirm it. This option will only appear if you choose Forward to voicemail.
  7. Click Save.

Setting up a custom voicemail or message

Select Custom in the Voicemail & missed call handling card or Custom in Phone settings if you want to record a custom voicemail or message.
  1. Click Record.
  2. Select how you want to record your voicemail. You can select from the following options:
    • Phone: Vodafone Business with RingCentral will call you to record your custom greeting over the phone.
    • Microphone: Speak into the microphone and adjust the slider until the volume meter turns green. You may need to allow Vodafone Busines UC to access your microphone.
    • Importing: Upload a .WAV or .MP3 file. Recommended files are:
      1.   • CITT u-Law (G711a), 8kHz, 8 bit, mono
      2.   • PCM, 8kHz, 16 bit, mono

  1. Click Done.

Voicemail options

  • When a call is not answered: Action your voicemail will take when a call is not answered.
    • Forward to voicemail: Forward the call to voicemail when the call is not answered.
    • Play a message, then disconnect: Play a message to your caller then disconnect the call. 
    • Send call to a calling group: Select a group from the dropdown list to handle your calls.
  • Voicemail greeting type or Message type: Choose the type of voicemail greeting or message callers will hear.
    • Default: Allows you to use the default voicemail or message. You can also listen to the preview of the default voicemail with this option.
    • Custom: Allows you to record a custom voicemail or message.
